Since opening my books on the 1st of April, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting some truly lovely horses and ponies — all shapes, sizes, colours, quirks, and personalities. Every visit has reminded me why I do this job: to help horses feel comfortable, understood, and supported in the work we ask of them.
I’ve kept firmly to my mantra from day one: saddle fitting should work with your budget, not against it. My role isn’t to sell you the most expensive saddle on the van — it’s to find what genuinely suits your horse, your riding, and your wallet. Welfare first, practicality always.
One unexpected joy of running CF Equine full‑time is having a little bit of my own horse time back. I even managed to take Marley out for a small jump recently. And I’ll be honest… I’m finding it very hard not to let that old competitive itch creep back in. Maybe a tiny bit of fun wouldn’t hurt. Maybe.
For now, I’m just grateful — for the horses I’ve met, the owners who’ve trusted me, and the chance to build this business the right way: quietly, kindly, and with the horse at the centre of every decision.
Here’s to many more miles, not so muddy boots, and happy horses.
I’ll be sharing quick, no‑nonsense tips on keeping your saddlery in top shape, plus the little warning signs that your saddle, bridle or bit might be due a rethink. From tiny behaviour changes to those ‘hmm… that wasn’t like you yesterday’ moments, I’ll help you spot the clues before they turn into bigger problems.
